Hit the Links – Golf Inspired Looks

May 24, 2021 by Erin Kilroy Leave a Comment

Happy, happy Monday! Spring has sprung, flowers are blooming and the ivy on my building is back in full force. And it’s time to hit the links and get our golf on!

Around this time last year, Matt and I picked up golf as a way to get outside, be active, and social distance. But as it turns out, we love it! We hit the range a few times last summer and played our first 18 when we visited my parents in Florida.

A Round-Up of Golf Inspired Looks

So, womens golf-wear is severely lacking. Almost everything is too expensive or too ugly so it makes shopping for golf clothes difficult. Skorts and dresses with built-in shorts underneath are the move. It’s why I love the Ace Tennis Dress Athleta and the Outdoor Voices Hudson Skort. Both options are cute but practical, with pockets in the shorts for an extra ball and a few tees.

Women are not always required to adhere to the collared-shirt rule in place at most private courses but if they are, the Momentum Polo Tank from Athleta is a cute option. (It also comes in a sleeved option if tanks aren’t your thing.) As for hitting the range, I love the Cool Racer Back tank from lululemon. And for those chillier days, layer up with a light jacket.

A good pair of shoes is an absolute necessity! I don’t think beginners need spikes and these New Balance Fresh Foam Cruzv1 Reissue are perfect for going from the range to the course to the clubhouse for post-round snacks and drinks. Bombas are my go-to sock because they’re light, soft, and bonus! Bombas donates a pair of socks for every pair bought.

As for equipment, I ordered a set of Strata Clubs from Amazon. They’re a good beginner set and come in a variety of colors, number of clubs. I don’t love the bag as it’s a little heavy but that’s not a major issue if you’re not carrying it on your back. Some other basic equipment you’ll need is a good pack of Unbreakable Tees and some fun, but cheap balls. (You don’t wanna spend too much on balls while you’re still learning!! My grandpa always picked up a few strays during his rounds!)

Other accessories: Uplifting Bow Scrunchie because who doesn’t love a cute bow in their hair? And a lightweight hat to keep the sun out of your eyes and protect your skin. Speaking of skin, I love Supergoop Matte Screen sunscreen. It keeps my skin from looking shiny and gives me just enough coverage to hide any marks and scars.
