What I’m Buying from the Sephora Sale

April 10, 2021 by Erin Kilroy Leave a Comment

It’s the Beauty Insider Sephora Sale! If you’re Rouge, you can shop now through April 19. If you’re VIB (like me!), you can shop April 13-19, and if you’re an Insider, you can begin shopping on April 15!

I’m not a big make-up person (although sometimes, I wish I was) but I love shopping at Sephora. Well, I love shopping at Sephora online. (If you know, you know.) I also love saving money. And having nice things. It’s quite the conundrum. So when the Sephora sale comes around, I like to stock up on some of my favorite items.

SKIN

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I took Accutane not once but twice. After years of painful acne, I was desperate for clear skin. Well, then COVID-19 hit and we all started wearing masks and my skin freaked out on me. Over the last year, I think I’ve really figured out a good routine for my skin. At night, I like to remove dirt and oil with The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser, use a foaming cleanser, and seal in moisture with The Ordinary NIacinamide + Zinc serum. Since introducing the Niacinamide serum, I’ve noticed that my skin looks a little dewier! A few times a week, I’ll follow my cleanser with the Glow Peel Pads (in place of the niacinamide) followed by my favorite nighttime moisturizer.

As for facial sunscreen, I swear by Supergoop Matte Screen. I like it because it is SPF40 and is slightly tinted (although there is not a range of tints – I am slightly tanned and it works for me). I also love that it’s matte – it provides just enough coverage to make me look alive, without getting oily/greasy, at work.

FACE

Yeah, so I’m not big into makeup but I like to look like I’m trying sometimes. I prefer tinted moisturizer over foundation and my go-to is the Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer. While I still use my trusty-dusty Urban Decay Naked palette (I’m old) on special occasions, I stick to swiping my eyelids with Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick (I like Nude Beach, Sand Dune, and Golden Bronze). As for blush, you can never go wrong with NARS Orgasm. Listen, I like what I like. And I also like Benefit Hoola Bronzer. And yes, I brush it all over my face. I’m stuck in 2005. Oh, I almost forgot: my favorite way to add a dewy glow is with Saie Glowy Supergel. (Can you tell I like looking like I just got off the beach?)

HAIR

My go-to bougie hair products are all Amika. I love the branding (I’m a sucker) and the smell! Right now, I’m using the Amika Volumizing Shampoo & Condition, detangling spray, and dry shampoo.

I certainly won’t be buying everything I’ve talked about but will be stocking up on a few of my favs. What are you planning to get? Leave a comment and let me know!
